what is the original food of the gods?
Ambrosia and nectar.
Compiled from various sources:
In Greek mythology, ichor is the mineral that is the Greek gods' rarified and colorless blood, sometimes said to have been present in ambrosia or nectar. Ambrosia is forms on flowers as dew and is carried to heaven by birds. Nectar is red, and probably the solid. (Notably, a triumphator, who wears red face-paint, is the closest thing to divinity a mortal can be.) In any case, it is ambrosia and nectar that the gods consume, and if they were deprived of them they would become lie down breathless, spiritless and voiceless.
Hence my second poem.
