Wish list (with nods to Kelly)
I wish I were funny, like Kelly.
I wish I could write powerfully, like Courtney.
I wish I could write at all lately.
I wish I had done more in high school apart from the computer-- read more, written more, talked about more.
I wish I could really wish for that last one, since my knowledge of computers has been awfully helpful sometimes.
I wish it were easier to be single.
I wish it were easier to be a girl.
I wish I weren't so hard on myself.

How wonderful it is to be a girl!
Make-up: guys have to live with their blemishes for all the world to see
Hair: we can wear it long or short, colored or natural, up or down, straight or curly, no questions asked
Clothes: granted, guys look more comfortable, and yet we are so cute! We get every look, ultra-girly to ultra-manly and we can still look feminine! Guys in girlish clothes get playfully teased a lot (most of the time by me if you're Tom Webb). Also, if guys dress too casual they can look sloppy but a girl who does that seems somehow more approachable or friendly.
Brains: we can act naive and it be cute or we can act jaded and be intellectual. We can surprise people with the extent of our knowledge and impress them with our talents.
Looks: Girls are just prettier. Boys can have a weird look to them but a vast majority of girls have several attractive features - some more than others, of course ;)
Personality: The stereotyping of guys is not often addressed and yet it causes a great deal of pressure to men. The past decades worth of "public awareness" of female discrimination has allowed us to be free (if we want to be) from stereotypes and it be ok. Guys on the other hand get teased for being to sensitive or emotional or even too nice sometimes. We definitely get the better end of the bargain when it comes to personality.
Plus, guys are just weird! they would never stay up until 4 in the morning talking about death or memories or the morality of annoyance or ...whatever else it is we talk about :P
wow, Kelly, you just amde me really glad I was a girl.
by the way, I think I should meet you. if you're in the group with Courtney and Amanda, I'm sure to like you.
uh-oh, you guys have given her unrealistic expectations - way to go.
I suppose we better clear up that confusion before it goes too far. ;)
but for reals, I'm sure it might happen eventually. Be patient young grasshopper.
Also, I'm glad you like being a girl! (especially since there is very little that can be done about it)
Now we just have to get Amanda feel the same way! How does Courtney feel about this by the way?
I love how you refered to my sister as a grasshopper!
Nods to you Kelly, raise the glass and toast the girls!
